Summer 2012 Classes at RX
It's gonna be an awesome season! For more info or to register, e-mail workshops@rebuildingexchange.org or call us at 773-252-2234. For non-free courses, students must pay in advance to ensure that a spot is held. You can also read more about our wonderful instructors, or the registration policies and fine print.
Workshops
These classes run four sessions, once per week. Woodworking 101, shaping and carving with hand tools, and wood finishing techniques are among the topics this season. Taught by seasoned veterans of the craft.
Make-it Take-it
These are one-session classes. You walk in with shop clothes on and walk out with a hand-crafted something something. Options include end tables, rustic mirrors, boot jacks, benches and lap tables. All made from reclaimed stuff here at the RX. How cool is that!
DIY Reuse
These classes are offered through the generosity of members of our community. Classes are either free or have a small nominal fee only. Have a cool DIY skillset and want to teach one yourself? Let us know!
Job Training
The fields of building deconstruction and material reuse are growing, and the ReBuilding Exchange is training people to meet the growing demand for a skilled workforce. Our current job training program is a 9 month on-the-job intensive training through a partnership with the Safer Foundation and the City of Chicago, and is funded by the Boeing Company and Polk Brothers Foundation. If you're interested in learning more about our job training programs, please contact us.
Tours & Presentations
