We seek a Career Development Coordinator to support our participants in the job readiness, job placement and job retention components of our program. The Coordinator will also coordinate and grow our employer partnership network. The Coordinator will have strong knowledge of the building trades and experience working in low-income communities. The Coordinator must be able to build genuine and strong relationships with a broad base of constituents, from the program participants to employers with available jobs.
This is a full-time salaried exempt position for 40 hours a week. Hours are flexible but generally completed Monday-Friday between 8:00am and 5:00pm. The Career Development Coordinator reports to the Workforce Training Program Manager
The Contract Home Improvement Instructor facilitates safe and inspirational classes in various aspects of home improvement such as, kitchen and bath renovations, tiling, patching and covering walls, floor refinishing & repair. The Home Improvement Instructor must be a natural trainer and community builder. They must have the ability to put themselves in a beginner’s shoes and help them learn from mistakes.
We currently offer beginning plumbing and electrical classes and an HVAC class. The Home Improvement Instructor may teach some existing classes and will develop new offerings in additional areas, for example tiling a backsplash, reframing and replacing a door or wall mounting various items .
This is a part-time contract position. Most classes are taught evenings and weekends. Typical time requirements are 6:00-10:00pm on weeknights and 10:00-2:00pm or 2:00-6:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Occasional weekday special events are also possible, depending on the instructor’s schedule.
The Contract Furniture Refinishing Instructor facilitates safe and inspirational classes in furniture refinishing. The Instructor must be a natural trainer and community builder. They must have the ability to put themselves in a beginner’s shoes and help them learn from mistakes.
The Instructor will develop and teach hands-on classes to community members on how to refinish and reimagine old furniture. The Instructor will define the learning objective and curriculum, starting with beginner offerings and adding more advanced classes as demand allows. Depending on the content, classes will be taught either as individual 3-4 hour sessions or in a series of up to 6 weekly sessions. Classes will support Rebuilding Exchange’s mission of reuse and utilize donated items wherever possible.
This is a part-time, contract position. Most classes are taught evenings and weekends. Typical time requirements are 6:00-10:00pm on weeknights and 10:00-2:00pm or 2:00-6:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Occasional weekday special events are also possible. We anticipate the Furniture Refinishing instructor will teach 1-2 sessions per week (4-8 hours) initially.
