Rebuilding Exchange invites you to play a part in a critical story of renewal, reuse, and opportunity. Our nonprofit trains, supports, and connects people overcoming barriers to employment as a pathway to meaningful careers in the building trades. In the process, we help reduce construction waste and provide an ever-changing inventory of reusable historical architectural materials for customers at our Chicagoland stores.

Your support of Rebuilding Exchange makes a real-world difference:

  • Connecting 80 people to living-wage employment while providing building-trades employers and apprenticeships with a qualified, skilled, and diverse workforce.
  • Diverting more than 1,500 tons of building materials from landfills annually while reducing the consumption, energy, and pollution new products require.
  • Directing 85% of every dollar donated to our environmental and workforce development programs.

Our social enterprise business revenue covers only 37% of our expenses. You can play an important role in this cycle of renewal by helping us expand our workforce training, education, and pre-apprenticeship programs, extend our outreach and improve our ability to deliver environmental benefits to everyone.
