3-Week DIY Gallery Style Matting & Framing Series EVANSTON

06/05/2024 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm CDT

Build a frame from reclaimed wood and learn to mat like a pro in this 3 part series!

Schedule: This is a 3 part series. There is exactly one week in between each session; the same time and day of the week (ex: Saturdays at 10:30am)

June Series Dates: (NOTE: This series includes a skipped date) June 5, 12, & 26 5-8pm

In this three-day workshop, participants will bring an artwork on paper (perhaps a drawing, watercolor, family photo, concert poster, postcard, playing card, ticket stub… anything on paper that’s no larger than 18×24”) and learn how to frame it in a gallery-quality box frame. We will professionally mat the artwork, design and build the frame, and mount the matted piece in the frame. The principles and techniques covered in this class can easily be applied to framing projects of any scale.

Participants choose either a black or white mat.
