HVAC 101: Reducing Your Footprint CHICAGO

This workshop is for homeowners that want to reduce their environmental footprint and have a better understanding of their HVAC system. We’ll cover:

• HVAC system components and what they do
• Practical DIY tips for maintaining your system and extending equipment lifespan
• Insights on the latest energy-efficiency HVAC technologies, including new cold-climate heat pumps that can reduce your energy consumption and utility bills
• ComEd rebates
• The negative environmental impacts of refrigerant pollution and how to ensure your HVAC contractor is following proper refrigerant handling and disposal practices.

Our instructor is Rory Toelle. Rory is a union trained residential HVAC worker who has been in the industry since 2007. In addition to his industry work, Rory is an instructor in Rebuilding Exchange’s Workforce training program. Rory’s work is environmentally focused with a strong emphasis on the safe disposal of refrigerants. See examples of his work on Instagram @northwindchicago

If you can’t make it to a class, you can transfer your ticket to someone else. Please email indigo@rebuildingexchange.org with their name and email address.

If Rebuilding Exchange needs to cancel a workshop, we will notify you 24 hours before the class and give you the option of refund or reschedule.

We do not currently offer other refunds or transfers between classes.

• All workshops are 18+ unless otherwise specified

• If you are unable to attend your one-time workshop, email us 48-hours before the class starts. If you are unable to make your series class, email us one week before the class starts;
• Materials are included in the fee for the workshop

• We are not able to accommodate last minute attendees. If a workshop is sold out, there are no open spots.
