Schedule: This is a 3 part series. There is exactly one week in between each session; the same time and day of the week (ex: Saturdays at 10:30am)
Are you interested in expanding your woodworking skills to include traditional joinery methods, advanced milling technique, and hand tool usage? Our Intermediate 3-Day Bench-Making Class is perfect for woodworking enthusiasts who are ready to take their skills to the next level! In this course, you will have the opportunity to work with reclaimed wood to build a beautiful and functional bench that will last for years to come. Over the course of the three days, you will be taught about some of the design principles that furniture makers consider as you develop your skills as a builder.
As you craft a gorgeous piece of furniture using traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery, you will learn how to use jigs to improve accuracy and efficiency in addition to the proper use of hand tools like chisels and hand saws. At the end of the course, you will be left with an expanded skill set that you can ponder while sitting on your sturdy and attractive new bench: perfect for taking your shoes off after a day in the shop!
This is an intermediate level class. Prior experience with the planer and table saw is helpful.
